I'm not even sure that my bank offers that service.

Yes, PoolQ2. You can record deposits in QuickBooks Online (QBO) without connecting your bank account by manually entering them.

To start recording deposits and other transactions for your bank account in the program, create a bank account in the Chart of Accounts. It sets up a dedicated place in QBO to track all related transactions, ensuring your financial data is organized and accurate.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab, then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Press the New button in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter the Account name.
  4. Choose Bank in the Account Type drop-down arrow.
  5. Select the Detail type that fits the transactions you want to track.
  6. Add a description and click the Save and Close button.

Once done, create a Bank deposit. I'll guide you on how:

  1. Click the + New button.
  2. Select Bank Deposit.
  3. Choose the account you created in the COA to put the money into from the drop-down arrow.
  4. Hit Save and close.

For more details about adding an account and creating bank deposits in QBO, please refer to the articles below.

Additionally, reconcile your accounts to ensure they match your actual statements to keep the balance for accurate reporting.
