If I close a checking account with my bank and I mark the account as "inactive" in QB, are the transactions still visible. I assume the answer is YES.

Sort of

While the account is inactive it will not show in the list of accounts, so no the transactions are not visible

but the transactions are not gone from the accounting, and will show in the other side of the transaction, like make deposits, etc
