If my bank account is linked to my qb account and I am adding old payments to just record them will it affect what my bank acct says is my balance?

Adding ANY transactions that hit your bank account (expenses, bill payments, deposits, etc.) will affect the "QuickBooks Balance" in your bank account as you are adjusting the register balance.

It will NOT affect your bank balance that QuickBooks pulls from your banks website.
