Question

If you utilize the Amazon Business app transactions connection and Brex credit cards together, do your transactions struggle to sync up?

Our transactions do not automatically identify matches, so we end up having to delete duplicate transactions and manually match the CC payment to the Amazon app transaction.

Hi there, Emily. Let me share some information when matching transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once you connect your Amazon app transactions and credit card accounts, QuickBooks automatically downloads the latest transactions. It looks for and tries to match them with transactions you've already entered into QuickBooks. If it can't find a match, it creates a new transaction record for you. All you have to do is approve the match or newly created transaction.

In your case, it's possible that you've recorded a transaction in QuickBooks and instead of matching it to your bank feeds, you added them. If the bank-downloaded transactions are already in your bank's register you can exclude them to avoid duplicates. If you've mistakenly added a transaction you can delete it and before doing so, I'd suggest reaching out to an accountant.

Also, you can utilize a third-party application that allows you to sync your Amazon Business app and Brex credit cards.

For more information, check out this article: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. This also includes the reasons why some transactions can't find their match from existing records.

Once everything is fine, you can now start the reconciliation

I'll be here if you've got additional questions or need assistance matching your transactions. Have a nice day!
