Let me help you fix the error you've encountered while importing your data from QuickBook Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @nick-american-in.

You can see the error to delete all employees already entered in QBO if your payroll is off in QBDT while it’s on in the prior software. To resolve this, you'll have to turn on the payroll in QBDT. Please know that you won't  be charged for changing this preference. Here's how to do it if you're a Windows:

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Choose Payroll & Employees.
  4. In Company Preferences, select Full Payroll or Online Payroll.
  5. Click OK.

I've attached a screenshot below for your reference.

For Mac users, those who activated or imported payroll, and those who don’t want to create a new account without E-services, I'd recommend checking out this article's Error: Please delete all employees already entered in QuickBooks Online section to fix the issue: How to fix errors when converting from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

After that, import your QBDT company file to QBO again. You can refer to this article for the step-by-step guide: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Also, there are things you need to expect when you migrate from QBDT to QBO. To know more about how your books convert (i.e., Chart of Accounts, documents, and invoices), you can refer to this article: What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you need further assistance in importing your data from QBDT to QBO, I'm just around to help. Take care and stay safe always.
