Importing Bank Transactions

I have connected my Wells Fargo bank since Jan 2021 and bank feeds are coming up fine from Jan 2021.

I am using the bank since 2019 and I want to import all the past transactions.

I used the upload file feature however it could upload only till June 2020. I am not able to import from July 2020 to Dec 2020.

When I upload the file for July 2020 to Dec 2020 and click next, QBO hangs and transactions are not imported.

Welcome to the Community, @Ashish Tulsian. I'm here to help you import your transactions in QuickBooks Online successfully.

It could be that the data you're trying to import may have symbols or special characters. I'd suggest you double-check the transactions. If you found some, remove them and then re-import your data.

To learn more about importing bank transactions in QuickBooks Online, please check out this article: How to import bank transactions using CSV files

You can also check out this article to learn more about checking the format of the CSV file you got from your bank.

Here's how:

  1. From the left menu, select Banking.
  2. On the Banking page, select Update.
  3. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials and select Continue update.

However, if all are set and the issue persists, I'd suggest you use an incognito or a private browser. This will prevent using internet files from making QuickBooks' functions missing.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL + Shift + P.
  • Microsoft Edge: press CTRL + Shift + P.
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N.

If that works, go back to the regular browser then clear your regular browser's cache to help load new cache data that can boost the browser's performance.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions. I'll be around to help. Have a lovely day.

Thank you Katherine for your reply. It worked! It was because of special characters in the description.

Thank you!
