I'll share some troubleshooting steps to fix it, traceylenocker.

When performing reconciliation, payments and deposits may display in the Payments tab because of a cache problem brought on by outdated data saved on your browser, or transactions may not be categorized correctly.

Let's login your account using an incognito window to fix some issue with your browser. Please use the following shortcut keys below:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P.

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. All browsing history will be deleted, and refresh the system. A different supported browser is also an option.

If the problem continues, the transaction might have been wrongly categorized. To fix it, you'll have to delete and recreate the deposit.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking page, then Categorized tab.
  2. Select the deposit transaction.
  3. Click Undo.
  4. Transaction will go back to the For review tab.
  5. From there, you can select and exclude them.

Then, you can manually recreate the payment transactions by importing them using a CSV or Excel file. Ensure to put a negative sign if you use the 3-column format or code it under Debit if you prefer the 4-column format. Check out this article for more details: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

You can resume reconciling your account in QuickBooks Online after it has been fixed.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance with reconciliation. I'll be around to help you.
