How do I log or categorize an incentive payment from my bank?

Welcome to the Community, @JBPC. I’ll assist you with your concern regarding logging your incentive payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

We can log your incentive payments from the bank by creating another account in your chart of accounts. Let’s create another income account and use it when creating a bank deposit for the incentives from the bank.

 

To do so, here’s how:

 

  1. From the left navigation pane, select the Accounting menu.
  2. Select the Chart of Accounts tab, and click the new New button.
  3. Under the Account type, choose Other Income.
  4. For the Detail Type, choose Other Miscellaneous Income.
  5. Choose your preferred Name for this specific account.
  6. Click Save and close.
