Information in the Categorize tab in QBO Banking

Is the volume of entries in the Categorized tab of banking needed?  If not, can I delete them like I did the entries in the Excluded tab?

Thanks

It's great to have you here in the Community forum, @ShariTax

To answer your query, deleting transactions from the Categorized tab would remove them from your accounting records, which may lead to discrepancies in your financial reports. It's important to keep the transactions as a reference for your bookkeeping and auditing purposes. Unlike the Excluded tab, which contains entries that you have explicitly excluded from your books, the entries in the Categorized tab should not be deleted.

However, if you insist on having them deleted, I highly recommend consulting with your accountant. They will be able to guide you on the best course of action to maintain accurate records. Also, to ensure that any changes made to your Categorized tab align with your overall financial goals and comply with relevant accounting principles.

Thanks so much for the quick reply.  I am the accountant and I definitely do not want to delete needed entries.  I was just trying to clean up, but will leave the 5,000 ish entries there.  Thanks for the input.
