We are exploring changing our banking provider. I'm still learning QuickBooks, and am just curious how difficult a changeover would be.

Hi there, @traper-hickorync

I'm here to ensure you can update your bank account in QuickBooks Online.

First, we can update our online banking login details by heading to the Banking menu. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu click Banking tab and then select a bank account you'd like to change.
  2. Select Edit sign-in info after clicking the pencil icon.
  3. Update your credentials, like username, password, account number, etc.

Second, if you'd like to edit the bank account name, here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu again, and then choose a bank account you'd like to modify.
  2. Tap the Pencil icon, then select Edit account information.

        3. Enter a new bank Name and Detail Type.

        4. Click Save and Close once ready.

Furthermore, we can add your account from the Chart of Accounts window. Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account, then go to the Accounting tab at the left pane.
  2. Select the Chart of Accounts and click on the New button.
  3. Fill in the account's information (account type, detail type, name, and others), then hit Save and Close.

To ensure that the transaction goes to the correct accounts and to avoid duplicates, utilize this article as your guide: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, we can reconcile them to make sure that they correspond to your actual bank and credit card statements. Please look through this guide to learn how to: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

I'd like to hear more from you in the comment section if you've got other QuickBooks concerns. Take care and have an awesome day.
