Question

Is QB not charging credit cards when I send a receipt? It used to.

I am used to sending a receipt to my clients and in the process, QB would charge a credit card.  It looks like it hasn't been doing this.  Has something changed?  Where do I find a copy of the charges to credit cards.

I'm panicking.

Hi there, Karin. Let me share some insights below to help you locate a copy of your credit card charges.

To begin, please note that QuickBooks may not charge you when sending receipts to your clients if the payment method has changed. To verify, you can log in to your payments account to review your credit card charges.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. From the Activity & Reports menu, choose Transactions.
  3. Select the Dates dropdown menu to change the date needed.
  4. If you want to, select the Show Advanced options to do a specific search using the transaction ID and expiration date of the card.
  5. Click Search.
  6. Once you locate the transaction, select it to view more details.
  7. Select the small gear icon to access your receipt options.
  8. Choose whether you want to View ReceiptPrint Receipt, or Email Receipt.

For more detailed information, refer to this article: Find transactions, deposits, or fees in the Merchant Service Center.

I'll also add this resource to learn how to handle duplicate credit card transactions to maintain accurate records: Handle duplicate credit card transactions.
