Question

Is there a way to separate my business account and personal account? Or do I have to disconnect my personal to only see my business account numbers?

Welcome to the Community, rocky805.

Opening a company checking account is one of the first things to do when beginning a new business, as it's generally beneficial to prevent mixing personal and business expenses.

Although it is not advisable, there may be instances where you encounter situations that will require you to do so. That said, you'll want to remove your personal bank account from QBO.

To disconnect an account, I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Banking in the left menu.
  2. Choose the account you want to remove, then tick the Pencil icon.
  3. Tap Edit account info.
  4. In the Account window, mark the box next to Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Click Save and Close.

Once done, you can now connect your business account.

You may also seek professional advice from your accountant if you have more concerns with your accounts. They know the best process for handling these processes.

I'm attaching this article for more information about mixing business and personal expenditures: Mixing business and personal funds.

I'll be around if you need further assistance with any QBO-related tasks. I'm very eager to help. Take care always.
