Question

Is there a way to sync a Bluevine business credit card with QuickBooks? I currently have Bluevine synced but only my business checking is showing up.

I use business credit card for most recurring expenses and charges, and because it is not synced I have to manually enter those or upload a monthly statement. Just curious if it will work automatically the same way the checking account does. Any ideas?

Hi there, @karen-nurtureand. Syncing your Bluevine business credit card with QuickBooks Self-Employed depends on whether it's supported. Let me provide some ideas and walk you through the process.

You may have an issue finding or connecting to your account if:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

Kindly perform the following steps to integrate your business credit card with QBSE efficiently.

Step 1: Search for your bank.

If you can't find your bank when you search:

  • Verify the spelling. Make sure the spelling is exactly as it appears on your bank's website.
  • Use very specific names to search for your bank. If you still can't find anything, try broader names like "Citi."
  • Enter your bank's URL into the search. For example, search for "hsbc.com." for HSBC.
  • Search for the name of the issuing bank, meaning the bank that issued your bank card. You can find the issuing bank's name on the back of your card."Chase," "HSBC," or "Bank of America" should work, but "Visa" may be too generic.

Step 2: Try other listed versions of your bank's name.

There are times when a financial institution may have multiple bank names or offer different types of accounts, but they may choose to provide only one website for connecting to QBSE.

  1. Go to your Profile, then click on Connect bank.
  2. Enter the name of your financial institution. When it appears, select it from the list.
  3. Choose the link to go to your bank's website. This opens a new window.
  4. Make sure you can access your account through this site. See if you can view your account summary, account history, and account details without any errors.
  5. If you can access everything, log out of the financial institution's website.
  6. Go back and continue to add the account in QBSE.
  7. Continue to add the account to QBSE.

Step 3: Request support for your bank.

  1. Go to your Profile, then click on Connect bank.
  2. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you will get the message, "Still can't find your bank?". Click on it.
  3. Enter the Bank name and Bank web address (URL).
  4. Once done, click on Request.
