I can see the urgency of getting your beginning balance reconciliation fixed, Accounting-Emint. No worries, I can help you figure out what's causing this issue and get past it.

Ideally, it'd be best to review the beginning balance in QuickBooks each time you start reconciling an account. Also, the beginning balance amount should match what's on your bank statement for the same start day. If it doesn't, QuickBooks lets you know what you need to change.

To fix the beginning balance of your first account reconciliation in QuickBooks Online, follow this workaround:

  1. Review the original opening balance.
  2. Check your bank statement.
  3. Match and categorize downloaded transactions.
  4. Review any discrepancy reports.

To effectively undo a reconciled transaction in QuickBooks Online, you can let your accountant follow the detailed instructions in this article: Undo a client’s reconciliation in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

This should help you rectify the error in the beginning balance of your first reconciliation report in QuickBooks Online.
