Question

It seems QB online only is registering my venmo personal amount. Is there anyway to take my personal venmo out of QB and strictly only do accounting for my personal?

When I link my venmo account to QB online its showing my balance as being my "personal" balance and not the biz balance.  The transactions to review are both business and personal.  is there a way to weed out the personal and just have the business transactions? please help

Hello, mikebertolino.

I'll share a bit more on how QuickBooks downloads the transactions from Venmo, and how we can split or take care of your personal records.

QuickBooks Online follows how the transactions would flow to your account. So if the personal and business transactions would post to a single source, the system would download all transactions into the bank feeds.

We'll want to reach out Venmo's support to change how the transactions would sync. Their agents might be able to split the transactions and set a setting to only download the business records.

In the meantime, we also have the option to exclude your personal transactions when they come in. This way, we would only manage your business records from Venmo.

Here's how to exclude the transactions:

  1. Go to the Banking page.
  2. Click the For Review tab.
  3. Find the personal transactions, then check the box to select them.
  4. Click Exclude.

For more details about excluding a transaction, we can take a look at this article: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online

I would also like to add that you can use Venmo to process payments with QuickBooks Online. If you'd like to know more, I'll share this article with you: Use PayPal and Venmo with QuickBooks Online

After bringing the business transactions in, we can start categorizing them. Whenever you're ready, we can also start the regular reconciliation process
