Question

Limited history for capital one credit card

I have recently started with QB online and successfully connected all my accounts but capital one credit card. It seems it's history is limited to 90 days (I suspect it's the limitation of the interface, as I can see all history in capital one app)

How do I import the rest?

Thanks

If you can download *.qbo files from your bank, you can import past transactions into your QBO account. Another option, use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo).

I appreciate you for visiting the Community, Paul. I'm here to help you import your transactions from your Capital One Credit Card to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you're right. As QuickBooks automatically downloads the latest available transactions, we can't download your bank transactions from Capital One Credit Card for the past 90 days.

For the time being, we can manually upload your transactions to QBO after downloading them from your bank.

To enable us to enter older transactions into QuickBooks, let us first ensure we have the downloaded .qbo or CSV file data of your transactions from your financial institution. You may visit your bank's website for this.

Once you've reviewed the downloaded transactions, let's manually upload them to QBO. Here's how:

  1. On the left menu bar, select Bookkeeping and click Transactions.
  2. Under the Bank transactions section, select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions.
  3. Click on the Link account dropdown, then Upload from a file.
  4. Select Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then select Continue.
  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions.
  6. Select Continue, and follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then tap Continue.
  7. Choose the transactions you want to import and select Continue.
  8. Click Yes. When you accept your transactions, tap Done.

For further information about manually importing your transactions, refer to this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks.

By doing so, you'll receive instructions on resolving any errors you encounter when downloading transactions and ensure that they match up after uploading.

You're always welcome to get back to us if you have any additional queries about importing transactions to QBO. I'd be more than willing to assist you. Keep safe!

Thanks. Very informative. Is that a limitation imposed by Capital One?
