When I link my bank account to QB is there a way to only bring over transactions beginning January 1, 2022?  The account has been open since 2018, but I do not want to bring any of those transactions to my new QB account.  I want to start fresh as of January 1, 2022.

Hello, @sl1252.

Welcome, and thanks for reaching out to the Community. I can share information about linking bank accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, there is! When connecting your bank to QBO, the system will let you select how far back you want to download transactions. In your case, you can choose January 1, 2020, as your starting date.

Here's how to do it:

  1. In QBO, go to the Banking menu on the left-hand menu bar.
  2. Proceed to the Banking tab.
  3. Hit Connect Account if this is your first time connecting. Press Add account or Link account if you've already connected an account before.
  4. Search for your bank.
  5. Tap Continue and type in the username and password you use for the bank's website.
  6. Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.
  7. Select how far back you want to download transactions. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions. Others can go back as far as 24 months.
  8. Hit Connect to complete.

Moreover, this guide will provide you with some additional details on this subject: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online. After you start categorizing these transactions, then you're ready to reconcile.
