Marking all Post-dated checks

Hi there, FF10. I'm here to lend a hand.

Once you enter a post-dated check in QuickBooks Desktop, you'll see a  blue line in the register that separates transactions with future dates from those with current or historical dates. And any transactions appearing below the blue line are post-dated or future transactions.

Since no line shows up before the post-dated check in your case, a data integrity issue could be the reason. To resolve this, let's run the  Verify Rebuild Data tool that helps identify and repairs data issues within your company file. But before doing so, ensure you update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

To verify and rebuild your data, here's what you'll need to do:

1. Click the File menu at the top.
2. Go to Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
3. If QuickBooks detected no problems, there's no further action needed. If you receive a message, "Your data has lost integrity", the file is damaged. Just continue to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.
4. When you Rebuild Data, you'll receive a message to back up your company file, just click OK. The utility starts as soon as the backup is finished.
5. Click OK when you get the message "Rebuild has completed".
6. Run Verify Data again to check for remaining data damage.

RE: I am now working with a new qb file and it is not happening, how can I have this red stripe/line show up?

Are the color schemes different between the two companies?  You can check by going to Edit | Preferences | Desktop View | My Preferences | Company file color scheme.

If different, then if you try other color schemes in the problem company, then do you see a line?
