Question

Matched transactions missing for deposits. They are not reconciled and I see them on other deposits as an option to match. How can I force QB to show them where I need?

I'm trying to match credit deposits. I have one total cc deposit for $500 and I need a payment that is $324.05 to match (plus others). Instead QB shows me the others I need and and ones that I don't need. Then I click on a deposit for the next day of $650 and it'll show me double the payments to match including the $324.05 that I need for the $500 deposit. My filters are clear and my dates are the same (mid November to today).

It's my pleasure to have you here today, @orangepark-owner. Helping you match your entries is my top priority. Let me give you insights into how this feature works with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once your bank is connected, the system will automatically send your data to the For Review tab. It'll try to look for any possible entries available to match. I can see the need of linking your credit deposits to the precise payments only. At this time, you need to review your entries one by one by clicking on the Find match button to narrow down the result. Then, pick the entries you only need.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Click on Banking at the left pane, then go to the Banking page.
  3. Select your bank account.
  4. Look for the transaction under For Review.
  5. Tap on Find match.
  6. Mark the entries you need under Select transaction to match.
  7. Hit Save.

This reference will give you in-depth information about handling online banking transactions in our system: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

To simplify the review process, you can utilize bank rules which automatically categorize transactions for you. I'm adding this article as your guide: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.
