Question

Matching a direct connect payment.

Morning,

I made two separate deposits in QuickBooks, but when I went to the bank they deposited them together. When I try to match the transaction from bank feeds with direct connect it will not allow me because the totals do not match. Is there a way to select more than one deposit in QuickBooks to match the bank feed?

Thank you

Goodmorning, LMBRKB.

It's nice to have you in the Community. I'll share the steps so you're able to match the deposit to the transactions. You can split your bank feed transactions. This way, you can match them in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thus, splitting your bank feed entries is just a few clicks away. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu at the top, and then select Banking Feeds.
  2. Select Bank Feeds Center, and then click Skip once prompted.
  3. Click the bank account associated with the transactions.
  4. Tap the entries you want to split, and click Add more details from the Add drop-down under the Action column.
  5. Choose the income or expense account you want and fill out the needed info.
  6. Press the Add line option to add more splits to a specific transaction, and then select Save and add to register when you're ready.

Then, you can add or match your transactions to ensure they go to the right accounts and prevent duplicates. Once ready, you can now reconcile your account to make sure your books are accurate.
