Missing deposits

Hi. Our server went down. After the restore, I am seeing payments in the undeposited account but when I try to bank them they do not appear. They are not listed in the bank account or in the deposit detail report. However when I try to delete them, the message says to delete the deposit first. How can I get these deposits from undeposited to the bank account?

I'm here to help you handle your missing deposits in QuickBooks Desktop, 

Anniced. 

 

It's possible the payments are deposited incorrectly in QuickBooks, resulting in the inability to see them on your bank account and bank report. 

 

I'd suggest deleting the transactions in your Undeposited Funds account. Then, deposit them to the correct one.

 

Here's how to delete the transactions:

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu, then select Use Register.
  2. From the Select Account drop-down menu, choose the Undeposited Funds account.
  3. Click on OK.
  4. Find the deposit transaction. 
  5. Right-click on the deposit.
  6. Select Delete Deposit, then click on OK to confirm.

 

Once done, record the deposits. I'll show you how:

 

  1. From the Banking menu, click on Make Deposits.
  2. In the Payments to Deposit window, select the payments.
  3. Click on OK.
  4. Choose the account you want to enter the deposit from the Deposit drop-down menu.
  5. Check the deposit total. Ensure the account and selected payments match the deposit slip from your bank.
  6. Enter the correct date you deposited at your bank.
  7. Tap on Save & Close.

Thank you but I have tried to delete the transactions but I get a dialog box saying "you need to delete this payment from the deposit before...." However it is not in the bank account or on the deposit detail. It still sits in the undeposited account.

One possible approach is to access the payment made and navigate to the right side, where you should find an associated deposit. By clicking on the deposit, you can verify if it corresponds to the transaction you wish to delete, and if so, proceed with the deletion.

  1. Open QuickBooks.

I have two deposits that came in from Intuit, but they are not in my bank account.  Any help or suggestions?  I contacted my bank and they are not showing the deposits.  Not sure what to do next

Since you've already checked with your bank and they don't show the deposits, let's look at a few things within QuickBooks:

 

  • Confirm the deposit details: Double-check the deposit dates and amounts in QuickBooks to make sure they are correct.
  • Check the payment status: Verify the status of the payments associated with those deposits. Are they showing as "Deposited" or are they still pending?
  • Review your bank account connection: Make sure your bank account is correctly connected in QuickBooks and that there are no error messages. Sometimes a temporary connection issue can cause delays.


If everything looks correct in QuickBooks, and your bank has confirmed they don't have the deposits, the next step would be to contact QuickBooks Payments support directly. They can provide more specific information about the status of those deposits and help track them down.
