Can missing transaction be specifically requested to be transferred from the bank?

HI, kayc5292. I have the information you need to enter the missing bank transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Yes, If the transactions are older than 90 days, you can get the missing transactions by logging in to your bank's website. From there, you just need to follow your bank's instructions on how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Make sure to check the date range before you download.

Once you have the file, you can follow the steps outlined in this article (Step 4: Manually upload the transactions): Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. This will give you detailed steps on how to import transactions from accounts that are and aren't linked to online banking.

Otherwise, if the missing transactions are within 90 days, you can run a manual update to download them into QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping then Transactions.
  2. Select Bank transactions.
  3. Click on Update.

After that, use this link to guide you in reviewing and categorizing your bank transactions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other concerns or other banking questions. I'd be glad to help.

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo) as a workaround.

Thank you - this worked!

The missing months were from when SunTrust transitioned to Truist.

You saved me from having to enter the transactions manually - huge time saver.

Appreciate  your help, Kayc
