Question

My Amex Delta Card transactions have a large swath missing. The only ones from 2023 that are posted are in December, but I used it all year. Where are the others?

Thank you for turning to the Community about your banking concern, polsonmj.

I acknowledge the importance of maintaining a comprehensive record of banking transactions, as it guarantees the precision of data on your tax forms and other records. I'd be glad to offer you some guidance on retrieving the missing entries.

QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) will download your bank and credit card transactions when you first connect them. It fetches the entries from the last 30 to 90 days, and sometimes even up to a year.

To get the older entries, you'll have to export the transactions from your bank and then import them into your QBSE account. For a comprehensive guide, take a look at this article: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, the date and account set on the Transactions page affects how your banking data are displayed in your company. Let's make sure that you select Amex Delta from the Account drop-down. Then,  choose either All or Last year from the Date drop-down.

When everything looks good, classify your banking data into the correct Schedule C categories to keep your records organized. Streamline the categorization process for your entries by utilizing banking rules. If you have accounts that don't  offer online banking, you can either import your banking data to QBSE using a CSV file or manually input the information.
