Question

My bank accounts are connected, I'd like to sort through my 2021 data - but I can't see how to access it so I can categorize that! I have an apple card I'd like to link!

I'd love to have everything in one spot organized. I am needing to categorize my 2021 bank statements and apple card for self employment deductions.

Welcome to the Community space, @michelleinfinity.

Let me help you locate your 2021 transactions to categorize them in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

It is good to categorize your transactions to ensure that this has been added to the right accounts. Also, QuickBooks will put them on the correct line of your Schedule C.

Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QBSE company file.
  2. From the left panel, select the Transactions menu.
  3. In the Transactions window, click the Type dropdown and select Unreviewed and uncategorized.
  4. From the Date dropdown, select the Custom Date to enter the range of dates you want to view.

Check out this article for more information about categorizing transactions from your online banking account: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed

Once sorted out, let’s connect your Apple card to your company file. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. In your browser, tap the Gear icon to select Bank accounts.
  2. Click the Connect another account menu to enter your bank or credit card account.
  3. In the search box, enter the name or correct URL of your financial institution.
  4. Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

In the instance that you can’t find your bank after following the steps above, your bank may not be supported yet to connect to QBSE. With this, you can request support for your bank by following Step 3: Request support for your bank in this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking

While waiting for your support request, you can manually upload your transactions from your apple card into your company file. Refer to this article for detailed steps: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed

Moreover, check out this resource for your Schedule C to report your self-employed income and expenses.
