My bank and QB amount does not match, suddenly. Has up until this month. When I go back and compare transactions it appears that it's been over a year. How can that be?

I'm here to make sure that your transactions in QuickBooks match the transactions in your bank statement.

There are several reasons why your bank register balance in QuickBooks Online doesn't match your actual bank balance. 

• Outstanding transactions
• New transactions for a connected account
• Duplicate transactions
• Edited or deleted transactions
• Credit card (liability) account

First, let's go back to your reconcile to make sure that the Beginning and Ending Balances are correct. This report shows which transactions were cleared and which were left un-cleared. 

Here's how:

1. Go to Reports.
2. In the Find report by the name search bar, type Reconciliation Report.
3. Select Reconciliation Reports.
4. Pick the Account for the reconciliation report you want to view.
5. From the Report period drop-down arrow, click the reconcile period.
6. Go to the View Report.

Second, let's fix beginning balance issues if you've reconciled the account in the past QuickBooks Online. 

Once you're connected to your bank account, QuickBooks automatically downloads the latest transactions.  You can avoid getting multiple ones by matching your transactions.
