Question

My bank First Republic, was taken over by Chase. The account numbers didn't change but they can no longer sync through FR. How can I switch them to sync via Chase?

Let me guide you on how to sync your bank transactions from your original First Republic Bank account to the new Chase account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), mahsfba.

Since First Republic Bank has transitioned to Chase, you'll first need to disconnect your old bank account and connect the new one. Before proceeding, ensure to categorize the transactions remaining in the For Review tab.

Here's how to disconnect:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the bank account tile and click the Pencil icon.
  3. Select Edit Account Info.
  4. Put a check on the Disconnect account on save box, then Save and Close.

Once done, connect to the Chase bank account's website. To do that:

  1. On the same Banking page, click Link Account.
  2. Enter the bank name or URL, then Continue.
  3. Enter your sign-in info and click Continue.
  4. Select the accounts you want to connect and click Next.
  5. Select the Account Type and click Next.

For detailed instructions on disconnecting and connecting your bank accounts, refer to these resources:

Additionally, I suggest performing monthly reconciliations on your accounts to ensure they match your bank statements.

We'll ensure to respond promptly to any concerns you may have about managing your bank accounts in QBO. Take care and have a good one.
