Question

My bank recently changed my business CC from Visa to MC. I've connected the new card but now all of my previously categorized transactions are showing up "for review"

Is there a way to seamlessly integrate the new card so that the previously cleared transactions don't open back up? I didn't have any control over the bank changing the card but I'm not sure exactly how to handle in QBO. There are hundreds and hundreds of transactions.

Hello there, sarascone.

I understand managing many bank transactions can be time-consuming. I can share some information on how you can manage bank transactions when connecting a new credit card account to QuickBooks Online.

While there are no other options for integrating or linking a credit card account with QuickBooks without avoiding any duplicates, there is a way to manage previously categorized transactions that have been downloaded to your bank feeds.

To do this, first categorize and match the new transactions. Then, mark and exclude all the remaining transactions, which are previously clear and categorized. Here's an article for more details about the process: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online.

I'm also adding this resource as a future reference in reconciling those transactions: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have follow-up questions or any banking concerns. I'll be here to help. Keep safe!
