Question

My banking transactions are automatically transferred from my bank. Is there a way to pull them manually if they didn't transfer over automatically? 7 months of trans. TY

I am trying to reconcile my QB and realizing that I am missing months of transactions that didn't automatically transfer. Can I somehow re-request these? QB shows I am up to date but these transactions need to be imported from my bank.

I'll make sure you can manually pull your seven months' worth of transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @cherylhenszey.

When it's your first time to connect your account to online banking, your most recent transactions (for the last 30, 60, 90 days, or more depending on the financial institution) will automatically be downloaded.

To pull older transactions, you'll have to visit your bank's website and download your transactions through a CSV or QBO file. Then, manually upload them to your QBO account.

Whenever you're ready, follow these steps:

  1. In QBO, go to the Banking menu. Then select the Banking tab.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Choose the Link account dropdown and then Upload from file.
  4. Select Browse and then select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then select Next.
  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Next.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Next.
  7. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Next.
  8. Click Yes.
  9. When you're ready, select Let's go.

For the detailed steps, you can refer to this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online

Once your transactions are downloaded, you'll have to review and/or match them to the existing entries in QuickBooks. This way, you're able to keep your account updated. For the step-by-step guide, please refer to this article: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I would encourage you to reconcile your accounts every month. This will help you monitor your income and expenses and detect any possible errors accordingly. To know more about this process, I'd recommend checking out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other banking concerns and questions about managing transactions in QBO. Please don't hesitate to drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care always, @cherylhenszey.

@cherylhenszey

Another option, utilize MT Online as a workaround. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.
