My computer's date is 02/02/2021. Today QB defaults to 02/02/2022. How do I change the system date?

I can help you correct the QuickBooks default date, @wandgpaul.

The date you see in QuickBooks follows the computer's date. Since this isn't your case, you can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this.

First, please make sure to choose the correct date when creating transactions. QuickBooks Online (QBO) will remember the last selected date. After that, sign out and then log back in to refresh the system.

If it doesn't work, you can use a private browser (incognito) when accessing your QuickBooks company. This mode prevents cache from saving in your browser. Thus, a perfect place to isolate webpage issues like this.

Here are the shortcut keys you can use to access one:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome .
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox  and Microsoft Edge .
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari .

After that, sign in to your QBO account and review the system date again. If you're now able to see the right date, I suggest clearing your regular browser's cache to delete the corrupted web files. Alternatively, you can also use another supported web engine

We've got a handy article to help you personalize QBO to work the way you want it to.
