My credit card has missing transactions from the beginning of the year, how can i add those to QB?

i have updated the credit car, unlinked and re linked it, and the charges from beginning of the year still do not show up.

I appreciate the steps you've taken to restore missing bank transactions in QuickBooks Online, @jcmart182-gmail-.

 

I know another way how you can get transactions from the beginning of the year.

 

Most banks may only allow 90 days' worth of transactions. It could be the reason why you're still unable to see the transactions after going through the troubleshooting procedures. 

 

I suggest importing a CSV file into QBO. Normally, you can download this file from your financial institution. Before uploading, make sure to review if the data is in the right format. Once done, here's how you can manually upload the transactions:

 

  1. Click on Bookkeeping then hit Transactions.
  2. Choose Bank transactions, or go to Bank transactions.
  3. Click on the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  4. Press the Link account ▼ dropdown and hit Upload from file.
  5. Tick Browse and then choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then hit Next.
  6. Click on the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, and pick the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then hit Next.
  7. Go through the onscreen procedure to match the columns on the file with the right fields in QuickBooks. Then choose Next.
  8. Click on the transactions you would like to import. Then hit Next.
  9. Choose Yes.
  10. Once completed, select Let's go.

Hi, I am having a similar issue. My credit card is missing 2 large periods of transactions (3-4 months). This happened last year as well. I tried to upload a CSV, but the amounts (return vs spent) are showing up in reverse. Please help. I am also worried that my other credit cards might not fully be linking.

I'll help you in recovering those missing bank transactions, Kaitlyn.

 

Have you recently updated anything like your account number, username, or password on your bank's website? This may be the cause for missing transactions.

 

Let's update your bank account to bring in the transactions in QuickBooks Online. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Go to Banking on the left panel.
  2. Click on the Banking link.
  3. Select the account you’re working on.
  4. Next, click on the Update button.

 

Also, you can check your uncategorized accounts. The missing transaction may be there. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select the Chart of Accounts tab.
  3. Look for the Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expenses account.
  4. Select Run report.
  5. Look for your missing transaction on the report.

Once everything is back in order, you can begin categorizing and matching your online bank transactions to ensure that they are posted into the appropriate accounts.

Another option, utilize MT Online as a workaround. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.
