Solved

My PayPal account won't reconnect. I have re logged in several times over the past few days and it still won't reconnect. Any suggestions on a fix for this?

Hello, @gchic23-gmail-co.

Let me share some information on how QuickBooks handles your PayPal account.

Just to clarify, what exact error message did you when attempting to connect your PayPal account? This is for me to further check for any reported issue or open investigation about it.

In the meantime, let's make sure to enter your PayPal account's username and password. Also, you can access your PayPal account outside QuickBooks to check for any prompts or messages that need your attention. You can follow the steps below in connecting your PayPal account:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon.
  2. Choose Bank accounts.
  3. Search for PayPal
    • If you've already connected an account before, select Connect another.
  4. Select it from the suggestion.
  5. Hit Continue to PayPal.
    • This will route you to their website.
  6. Enter the sign-in info.
  7. When you’re ready, select Connect securely.

However, if you're bank was connected already, and transactions are not updating, it's possible that the connection between PayPal and QuickBooks may have been interrupted. To fix this you may refresh your bank to download the recent transactions. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Bank accounts.
  3. Press on the Refresh All button.
  4. You can do this 2 or 3 times.

If it's still not updating, you can manually import them by downloading your transactions from PayPal and importing it using a CSV file. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Keep me posted if you have questions about managing your connected financial accounts. I'm always here to help.

Hello I have exactly the same problem.

I have tried to connect and reconnect many times over the past 2 months.

The issue isn't the password but the balance isn't updating.
