I know the importance of reconciling your accounts to keep them accurate and balanced, Kendall.

Since you can't proceed with the process due to a grayed-out page, I'll provide some troubleshooting steps to ensure you can reconcile your account accordingly in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Before that, I would like to ask what version of QBDT you're using in performing the reconciliation task. This additional information will be greatly appreciated as it will assist me in offering the most suitable solution.

To begin, make sure your QBDT is up to date with the most recent release. This way, we can ensure the software runs with the newest features and updates. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click the Update Now tab, then Get Updates.
  3. Close and reopen QuickBooks to install the latest release.

After installing, go to the reconciliation page and check if you can proceed.

If the issue persists, you may use the Verify and Rebuild tool within the program to detect any damaged data in your company file and fix them. It also allows your QuickBooks software to refresh and update the data inside the company file. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, hover over Utilities, then select Rebuild Data.
  2. Click OK on the QuickBooks Information window, then follow the onscreen steps to back up your company data.
  3. Allow the tool to repair your file, then once done, hit OK.
  4. Go to the File menu again, and in the Utilities, choose Verify Data.
  5. Let the tool review and check for any data issues.
  6. If the program didn't detect any problem, tick OK. However, if there are issues detected, select Rebuild Now.

I'll also add this article for a detailed step-by-step process: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Furthermore, this helpful reference can help you speed up the reconciliation and make your accounts balanced and accurate. It also has guides on fixing discrepancies while in the process: Learn the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks.

I'll keep an eye on your response and if you require further assistance reconciling accounts. I'll always be around and ready to help. Take care!
