Question

My subaccounts transactions do not show up when I reconcile the parent account. Suggestions?

I am reconciling all last years books in quickbooks for the first time. The first 5 months, the program acted as I expected and reconciliation went fine. On month 6, during reconciliation, any transaction not in the parent account isn't included in the reconciliation ledger.

Hello there, @bhsptsoboostertr. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to reconcile your account in QuickBooks Online (QBO) seamlessly.

Thanks for sharing details about your concerns. Let me provide some information about this.

In QBO, once you connect your bank or credit card accounts, you'll have to know how it downloads the transactions. If the transactions download to one account, you only need to link the parent account. Then, just reconcile this account because all transactions in the subaccounts roll up into it. For more details, feel free to check this article: About bank or credit card subaccount setup.

Additionally, here's a helpful guide that you can access to help resolve reconciliation issues: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.

Once everything is fine, the program will automatically create a report for the reconciled transactions. You can use this as a reference in the future to avoid mistakes in performing future ones.

I'd love to know how this goes. I'd appreciate any updates you can add about this. If you have additional questions about reconciling accounts in QBO, feel free to post a comment below. I'm always around and ready to lend a hand. Have a good day and keep safe.
