Thank you for reaching out to the Community, @Succulent.

Let me provide you with some insight into your concern about the Navy federal account disconnecting from QB and is not able to import banking info in QuickBooks Online.

To begin, May I know whether you encountered any errors that appeared on your banking page? Since it might be your bank may be undergoing system maintenance.

QuickBooks automatically downloads new transactions when you connect your online bank and credit card accounts. If you're experiencing issues with downloading the latest transactions or updates seem stuck, don't worry. Here's what you can do to get QuickBooks to start downloading transactions again.

If you see a bank error message, jump to Step 4: Fix specific bank errors.

Step 1: Start a manual download

QuickBooks downloads the latest available transactions every night around 10 PM PT. Some may take a little longer. If downloads seem stuck, or you want the latest available transactions, do a manual download:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update.

This updates all your connected bank and credit card accounts. The number of transactions in each account tile will increase if QuickBooks downloads new transactions.

Step 2: Check your bank or credit card's website

If downloads seem slow or stuck, the issue may be on the bank’s end. Sign in to your bank’s website to check.

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select Link accountNote: You won’t add an account, you just need the listed URL.
  3. Search for your bank and select it.
  4. Copy the URL listed for your bank.
  5. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.

Step 3: Update your bank info in QuickBooks

Did you recently update anything on your bank’s website, like your account number, username, or password? If so, update that info in QuickBooks as well:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select the tile for the bank account. Then select the Edit ✎ icon.
  3. Select Edit sign-in info.
  4. Update your info as needed.

Hi. I keep getting an error when I try to update or link my NFCU accts...I'm trying to follow the article but there is no "Step 4"...what can I do to import my bank transactions from all of 2023?

February 23, 2024

I appreciate you for following the steps on how to update or link your NFCU accounts, Lisa. I've got some insights to help you link and import your bank transactions into QBO.

I'd like to verify: did you receive any error or prompts when you tried to link or update your bank account? If so, you can hover to Step 4 of this article for more details: Fix specific bank errors.

Once your bank is connected, the transactions from the last 90 days get downloaded automatically. Since you've mentioned you wanted to import your entries from all of 2023, you need to download a CSV file from the bank's website.

Here's how you can manually import it into QuickBooks:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions
  2. Select the Link account dropdown, then select Upload from the file.
  3. Click Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.
  4. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, select Continue.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  6. Select the transactions you like to import. Then select Continue.
  7. Select Yes, then Done

You can read this article on how to check the format of the CSV file you got from your bank to upload transactions to QuickBooks.
