Question

Our American Express feed has not loaded for the last two weeks. However, it tries and tries and then comes back with no update and no error message. Any advice?

We have two American Express feeds from two accounts.  One loads fine.  The 2nd one does not.  The 2nd one is our original feed that has worked for over a year.  I have logged in to it to test our ID/password and all works. Just not in QBO.  It literally just stopped loading on Sept. 3rd.

We'd want to make sure that you're able to update the bank and download your transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Let's run several manual updates in a row to give the connection a chance to complete and fix the issue. 

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Click the gray Update button, located in the top-right corner of the screen. This will attempt to connect and update your bank account which may take a few minutes.
  3. Whether you get an error or not, do two more manual Updates (for a total of three).

 

If the transactions still not downloading or may encounter an error, you can follow the steps outlined in this helpful article: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online

 

In the meantime, you can manually import your bank transactions in QBO. Once transactions are in, you'll now need to categorize and match them in QBO to make sure they are allocated to the correct account.

 

In case you find duplicate records, you can always exclude them from the For Review section.
