PayPal Integration with Quickbooks Desktop 2024

Hello,

I recently decided to switch to QB Desktop Pro after using Online for the 2022 tax year and becoming frustrated with the performance and lack of control.

However, while both my bank accounts and PayPal are both capable of Direct Connect (transaction autosync) with Online, neither seem to be working with Desktop? The Bank-Feed Setup wizard only brings up Web-Connect with my main bank and PayPal EWC does not even attempt to connect, but they both allow transactions to be automatically downloaded.

With my bank I'm at minimal able to download a QBO file and manually update the last 6-months of transactions, but PayPal just doesn't seem to work withou me needing to pay ANOTHER company for a function that seems like it should be available with what was $600/yr software?

What am I missing and who do I talk to about getting Desktop to work with these basic features?

Thank you,

Kevin at ReMag Airsoft LLC

Hi, @ReMag Airsoft LLC. I understand what you've been through, and I'll be there to share some information on why sometimes this could happen with banks like your main bank and PayPal.

4Gal is correct. In addition, the financial institutions may have maintenance updates that require your attention, like pending alerts and online banking server issues. To fix this, you can check them by logging in to your two financial institutions' websites to acknowledge the changes.

If your online banking websites are working efficiently and may see specific bank feed errors in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), I suggest following the steps outlined in this article: Fix OL and OLSU Bank Feeds errors in QuickBooks Desktop. While it's good to know that you can still download and import transactions from your bank, I acknowledge the benefits of having them automatically sync your bank feeds into QBDT via Direct Connect and/or Web Connect.

However, if the issue persists with automatic feed-in entries via Direct Connect with your bank account and Web Connect and Direct Connect aren't working with PayPal feeds, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support team to investigate this further. They have tools to pull up your account to see what's causing this issue and resolve it promptly.

Here's how:

  1. In your QBDT program, go to Help.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Hit Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern about the bank feed issue you have with Direct Connect and Web Connect, click Select Contact Us.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account and select Continue and then Continue with my account.
*If you don't already have an account, make sure to Create a new account.
  6. We'll email you a single use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
*If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.
  7. Choose either to chat with us or Have us call you.

Take a look at our Pro Plus, Premier Plus, and Enterprise phone and chat support hours for more details.

I've also included some articles that can be helpful when importing banking transactions and how to deal with them when you see them in your bank feeds' Transaction List:

I'm still here if you need more assistance with getting your bank feeds sync automatically in QBDT. Anytime I can help and support your business success. Take care always.
