Hello there, Lainiefx.

As you have mentioned that you can't close the banking window, we would also like to know if you have performed any troubleshooting steps.

First, updating it to the latest release will keep the software components compatible with your system.

Second, let's run the verify and rebuild data to make sure you're data is free from any issues. Before doing so, please backup your company file for future use.

Follow these instructions whenever you're ready:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop, go to the File menu.
  2. Click Utilities, then Verify Data.
  3. QuickBooks will check the file for damage and notify you if it finds any. If errors are found, continue with the next step.
  4. Go to the File menu.
  5. Select Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
  6. Once the Rebuild is complete, set up the bank again.

Also, some involve using different keys on the keyboard by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and going into Task Manager to close out a program.

  1. Hover your mouse cursor over the active program or app located on the taskbar until a thumbnail appears.
  2. Right-click on the thumbnail and select Move on the menu.

If you're getting a similar result, uninstall and reinstall the program. Check this article for more information: Solutions for when QuickBooks stops working
