QB Online Reconciliation Glitch

I cannot reconcile my account because the beginning balance and "last statement ending date" is incorrect. However, when I go to into "History By Account" in the Reconciliation page, it shows my up to date reconciliation reports. For Example, I've reconciled up to Oct 31, and getting ready to complete Nov and Dec. However, my reconciliation page is reflecting Aug beginning balance. But when I go into History By Account, I see All reconciliation Reports including August, Sept, October. I don't know what happened. Please help.

Thank you for your reply. I was trying to avoid having to reconcile the same account again.

What would cause an already reconciled account to become "unreconciled"?

If transactions have been unreconciled, why are there a reconciliation reports for the months that follows?

I'm readdressing this again because I like to know if there is anything I may have done to inadvertently "unreconciled" a transactions.

Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @Woody0930.

Let me provide you answers to your reconciliation query in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The most likely reason why a reconciled transaction becomes unreconciled is that someone undid the last reconciliation. They might also accidentally unchecked (uncleared) the cleared transactions in the account register.

Additionally, funds that were transferred from a previously reconciled bank account to a sub-account will trigger this issue. Or else, saving the changes in your edited reconciled transactions will also unbalance your account.

However, you can run a reconciliation report to check if there were changes made to them. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Search for the Reconciliation report and open it.
  3. Select the account from the Account drop-down list.
  4. Click View Report to see the changes.

A possible browser might be causing the last statement ending date to be incorrect, Woody0930.

I'll share another set of steps that can resolve common browser issues in QuickBooks Online.

Start by switching to an incognito/private browsing session or a different browser. Follow these keyboard shortcuts to open an incognito session:

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P  for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari
  • Ctrl Shift P for Microsoft Edge

You can also use any of these browsers if you have them installed in your computer.

Then, log back in and go back to the Reconciliation page to check the date is now correct.

Proceed to deleting your browsing history or stored cache if you can already see them. Follow the steps in this article for more details: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.

Let me also share these articles just in case you might need them in the future:
