QuickBooks Cash Account-Bank Information

I'm using Quickbooks online and trying to order checks for the QuickBooks Cash Account we are using as our main business checking account. In order to place the order for checks, I need the banking information (i.e. Bank Name and Address) to do this. In fine print QuickBooks says it uses a bank called GreenDot but I can't find any information anywhere pertaining to what I actually need to place this order. Also, please don't send me anything on how to find the bank information in quickbooks. This does not give the information I actually need. Can anyone help?

It's a pleasure to have you here, @Smatt2. Allow me to chime in and provide some info about the QuickBooks cash account.

To order checks using QuickBooks Cash Account, you'll need to use an actual bank to transfer funds to this statement. You'll want to move the money first to a checking or savings account before moving it to QuickBooks Cash.

To transfer money, here are the steps:

  1. Select the Cash Flow menu.
  2. In the QuickBooks Cash section, choose Transfer money.
  3. Click Transfer out.
  4. In the From field, select your QuickBooks Cash account.
  5. In the To field, choose the (+)
  6. Select your connected bank account.
  7. Enter the amount you want to move out of your QuickBooks Cash account.
  8. When you're ready, click Finalize transfer.

Otherwise, you can also access the account and routing number from the same menu.

  1. Choose the Cash flow menu.
  2. In the QuickBooks Cash section at the top, select Manage Account.
  3. Click Account info to view your account number or routing number.

For more insights, feel free to review this article: Use your QuickBooks Cash account. This also includes some guides on how to put money in and take money out of your account.

In addition, I'll be sharing this resource that incorporates details about the Cash Flow menu including the envelopes, and the Cash Flow planner: Learn more about QuickBooks Cash Accounts.

@Smatt2.  With all the information you provided about "how to transfer funds" from existing accounts to Quickbook Cash, there is still NO answer on banking information.... When ordering new checks for the Quickbook Cash Account, even ordering through Quickbooks, there is a spot by which we have to enter the BANK NAME & ADDRESS, but this is not easy information to gather. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP CLEAR UP the mystery? What is the PROPER BANK NAME &. ADDRESS???

Hi there!  To bank used by QuickBooks is Green DOT.  To get the routing an bank account do the following:

go to you QuickBooks

click “Cash Flow”

View account

Manage account

there you will find the information you need

March 11, 2022

I also read the information you just provided. I am going through the same thing of needing a bank name and address. What you just provided doesn't give the name of the bank nor the address.

Has there been any resolution for this matter?  To order checks on QuickBooks online, it takes you to a page and requests routing/account number of the bank. I too use QuickBooks checking provided by GreenDot.  After grabbing my routing and account number from the QuickBooks... The check order page then requests financial institution exact name and address. None of this information is readily available anywhere on QuickBooks. One would think QuickBooks would make this information available Or , heres a crazy idea, have an option to order checks for the QuickBooks checking account with all the information auto filled so we, the customer, don't have to research the existence of life for a simple order.

Thank you for expressing your thoughts here in the Community, @Pro9. But don't worry, I want to make sure you can get the bank name and address so you can order checks for the QuickBooks Cash Account.

QuickBooks only allows you to view your account, routing, or PIN from the Account info page. In this case, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. This way, they can provide the bank name and address so you can continue ordering checks. To reach them, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Help button.
  3. In the QuickBooks Assistance chatbox, select Talk to a human and choose I still need a human.
  4. Select Contact Us.

Come back to this post and let me know how the call goes, @@Pro9. I want to make sure you're taken care of.

You may need more information about QuickBooks Cash and Checking accounts. You can check out these resources for more details:

Wishing you all the best!

I FOUND THE RESOLUTION.........   If you use the routing number to cross-reference. Aka type it into a google search. It will tell you the information. Mine was this.

https://www.usbanklocations.com/routing-number-[removed].html

After this I had to find their actual address by using the "Green Dot bank, Provo, UT":

Green Dot Bank DBA Bonneville Bank
1675 N 200 W
Provo, UT 84604

I hope you haven't given up QB does make it really easy with the merchant account and the lower fees. I know that if you are like me it was super frustrating. Thankfully for my job, I have to do a lot of Direct Deposit info for employees and they are notorious for not putting their bank name on there so this is something I have had to do often. The routing number gives the info since there is no information that is protected you can find out all the other little details. I hope this helps you and many others that will find this useful without wanting to throw in the towel.
