Question

QuickBooks Is anyone else having issues with QB0? If I try to edit a transaction or drill down, it works the first time and then freezes up until I refresh the screen.

Thanks for joining the Community, @frankgusmus.

I checked my resources and found no reports from anyone now which is relevant to your concern. Freezing screen issues are usually a result of too much historical data stored in your browser's memory.

We can remove them in just a few easy steps. Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks Online account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue.

You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it's working, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with your browser.

Additionally, I've included this reference while editing transactions in QuickBooks: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers in QuickBooks Online.

You can fill me in if you need further assistance with your transactions. I'll be here to help. Have a good one.

Thank you for your suggestion.  I have tried both chrome and microsoft edge and have the same issues.  however, when I go in the incognito mode in either browser it works.  It does NOT work in the regular browser.

Yes!! Me too. Working in Chrome. Drill down issues. It will freeze and so I refresh the screen and it will open. It's getting very frustrating. I'm having close multiple screens to get to where I need to go. This started a couple of weeks ago for me also.

I want to add that we have multiple users experiencing exactly the same problem every day on different machines all using the Edge or Chrome browser. You can drill down once but you will need to hit refresh for the second drill down event and every one thereafter within that browser session. If Intuit haven't experienced this problem themselves then I'm surprised that they don't have any internal users of their system.

Using the browser in the incognito mode does solve the problem, but that is cumbersome and its hard to believe that you have to use this type of workaround on Quickbooks.
