Good day to you, @mycowdog-yahoo-c.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) depends on the data provided by your bank. Since the payee is incorrect, you can simply change it by clicking the transaction in the bank feeds. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the Banking tab.
  3. Locate and select the appropriate bank account.
  4. Go to the For review tab.
  5. Select the transaction to open it and choose the correct payee from the Vendor/Customer field.

If the transaction is already added to your bank register, you can simply view and edit it. Here's how.

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate your bank account and click the View register link.
  4. Select the transactions you want to edit.
  5. Change the payee and click Save once done.

Also, I'd recommend contacting your bank and verify of any changes or issues on their end. It could be the reason why the imported transactions have incorrect payees.

Moreover, let me add this article that walks you through the steps in matching your transactions flawlessly: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Tag me in your reply if you have other concerns managing your transactions. I'm only a few clicks away from you. Have a great day ahead!

Thanks for your assistance.  I can indeed manually edit each transaction that has the incorrect payee.  Each month, there are at least 50 to edit.

I will ask my bank about it.  That would seem odd that they would export incorrect information when they have it as it should be, but I can ask.

Thanks again for your input.
