Good morning, @rpkammerer@gmail.

Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope you're having a great day so far.

To clarify, can you log in to your bank's website without issue? If so, let's start by trying some basic troubleshooting steps. Log in to your QBO account using a private or incognito window. Sometimes too much cache can build up in a browser and cause unexpected behavior with the product. This can be the reason for your bank connection issue. Here are the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

You can also use other supported browsers like Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge to determine what computer and browser you need for the best experience when using QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team. They have the necessary resources to securely start a screen-sharing session, review your account, and investigate the root cause of the problem. Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. I'm always happy to help out. Have a good one!

I've done all that a dozen times already...talked to 3 "experts" from Quickbooks.  Noone can figure it out....which is why I am reaching out to the larger community before giving up on Quickbooks altogether.

We acknowledge how important it is for you to link your bank account, rpkammerer. Let me help you contact the team to check and investigate this matter.

To assist in resolving the issue, please provide more details about the specific error message you received when entering the SMS code in QuickBooks Online and the name of the financial institution linked to the program. This information will help us identify and address the problem more effectively.

We have received various reports of code-related issues for different banks, and our product engineers are currently gathering data on these cases. Thus, I recommend contacting our Customer Support team and providing additional details to help speed up the investigation.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then select the Search tab.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Choose a topic, then enter a brief description of your concern and hit Continue.
  4. Pick either Chat with us or Have us call you and start connecting with them.

On the other hand, I have included some material that may provide additional guidance while reviewing your downloaded bank and credit card transactions in our system: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, regularly reconciling your accounts will allow you to compare each transaction with those entered into QuickBooks and your statements.

Comment below and count on me if you need further help with your banking connection and other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'm just a few clicks away to help you once more.
