Have been using Quicken (and old version) for our home finances forever; mostly as a checkbook register and to print checks.  Looking to do these simple tasks for checking/saving/other accounts on an iPad.  Can I do this with Quickbooks for iPad and is there a simple way to transfer data from iPad to computer?  Thanks in advance.

Which Quicken year version do you have? Is it running on Mac or PC?

Yes, you can definitely perform your tasks for checking, saving, and other accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO) for iPad, djitkin.

When you move your Quicken data to QBO, you can easily manage your customers, invoices, estimates, and expenses from work, home, or on-the-go with your iPad. Simply subscribe, download, and install the QBO app on your device to get started. From there, your data will automatically sync between your iPad and computer through a web browser, ensuring your information stays updated across all devices.

To bring your data to QBO, you'll first have to export your Quicken information to a file in .csv format. If you run into issues with converting your document, contact their support for help.

Whenever you're ready to import the file into QuickBooks, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Settings or the Gear icon, then select Import Data
  3. Choose the type of list you want to import and click the Import button.
  4. Click Browse. Find the .csv file, then select Open. Note: You can select Download sample CSV and use it as a sample template.
  5. Select Next. The Map data page appears. There’s a green checkmark on the fields that QuickBooks recognizes. Otherwise, you’ll see No Match.
  6. Use the dropdown menus to map the fields. Click Next.
  7. Review all the entries that you’ll import.
  8. Hit Import.

Once everything is all set, you may want to connect your bank accounts to QuickBooks. This simplify categorizing transactions and help maintain accurate financial records
