Why when I try to reconcile June 2021, it asks if I want to resume reconciliation  then takes me to January 2021, but I’ve reconciled through May 2022

Good day, @ads Kenny.

Once you finish your reconciliation, your last ending balance will be your next beginning balance. Also, Reconcile window will only show the Start reconciling option on your next reconciliation. This will only show the Resume reconciliation option if you haven't finished the process.

Sometimes local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product. This can be the reason why you're still seeing the Resume reconciliation option even if you've already reconciled your account from January 2021 to May 2022.

First, use a private browser to access your account in QuickBooks. It is also known as InPrivate in Internet Explorer and Incognito mode in Google Chrome. This browser mode doesn't record the browsing activity on your local device. Here's how:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If you're able to see the Start reconciling option, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Or else, use another supported browser instead. This might be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.

Just like balancing your checkbook, you need to regularly review your accounts in QuickBooks. You can check out our reconciliation workflow to ensure your real-life bank and credit card statements match with the ones you entered in the program.

If there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know. I'll be around to help you. Have a beautiful day!
