Recon records were not migrated when converting to qbo.  The account has now not been reconciled for nearly 5 years.  How do we at least reconcile last year with a corrected opening balance

Let me guide you on how to reconcile last year's data with the correct opening balance, br1ndlemom.

Before migration, some preparation is needed to make sure everything is set up correctly. Also, QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have the same reports as QuickBooks Desktop. To make sure that reconciliation data is converted successfully to QBO, you'll want to check if all reconciled transactions in the register show an R in the cleared column in QBO. On the other hand, cleared transactions will have a C in the cleared column.

You can go through this article to learn more about how data moves from QBO to Desktop: Learn How Features And Data Move From QuickBooks To QuickBooks Online.

However, if you notice that there are issues with the conversion of your reconciliation, you can ask for your bank statement for the specific period so you'll be able to review again your reconciliation transactions.
