It's my priority to get your QuickBooks Online (QBO) working for you to create deposits, Hank 83.

There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequent access to web pages or is damaged. This causes odd behavior where the screen freezes when using the touchpad in the deposit function. To better isolate this issue, let's sign in to QBO using a private or incognito window to help us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Then, try creating a deposit transaction using the touchpad again. Here's an article you can refer to for more details about recording and making bank deposits in QuickBooks Online. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. Removing this should fix the issue since the overtime collection of data can create corruption. We can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

If you are trying to access QBO with more than one browser tab simultaneously, you'll encounter this issue where the screen freezes and not responding in the additional tabs. Here's the correct way to work in more than one tab:

  1. While signing in to QuickBooks Online in one tab, go to the browser address bar.
  2. Highlight then copy the entire web address.
  3. Open a new browser tab.
  4. Paste the web address into the new tab then press Enter. The home page of your company will now load in the new tab.

I'd like to know how you get on after trying the recommended solutions as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Just reply to this post and I'll get back to you. Take care always.
