Question

The Bank Detail field on downloaded transactions does not show all data from the bank. A trial in competing product shows different data for that same field. Suggestions?

Hi jridout, 

 

We depend on what transactions are being downloaded from your bank. You'll want to reach out to them to post the exact and complete bank details. Meantime, you'll want to set the banking settings to copy the bank details to the memo field so you can edit it before or after you match/add it. Just a heads up that if you bank details and memo fields have different info, you may disregard this option. The memo might be cleared and changed. 

 

Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu. 
  2. Click Banking and then the bank tile.
  3. Above the ACTION column, click the small gear icon.
  4. Check the Copy bank detail to memo box. 
  5. Press F5 to refresh.

Not all the Bank Detail is being captured.  The last 15 characters are dropped.  Is there a way for Quickbooks to capture all the Bank Detail data

I understand how important it is to be able to see all the characters in the bank details in QBO. Please know that QuickBooks drops off 15 characters from the bank details for security reasons. To get through this, you can reach out to your bank. This way, they can provide you detailed information about the transaction.

The information that reflects in QuickBooks will depend on the data your bank shares with us. Once you link your account, bank transactions are downloaded automatically based on the details they provide to us.

 

Your bank relays the information into our system, and we upload it. You can check with your bank on how they provide the bank description details for users who connect their bank to third-party apps like QuickBooks.

 

Our QuickBooks Support is expert in this field. Currently, the option to choose who you can speak to is unavailable.

 

If you have feedback or suggestion related to the product, I recommend sending feedback. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4. Hit Next to submit.

I'm having an issue with the first part of the memo - which includes vendor information. It is only populating beginning with "Transaction ID:" usually. I need ALL of the info to populate.
