Question

The Bank Update was not working when I logged on so I reconnected the bank and now I have one bank account twice. How do I remove the duplicate bank account?

I'm here to ensure this gets taken care of, jeanette11. Let's work together to remove the duplicate bank account in QuickBooks.

To do this, I'd suggest disconnecting the bank account in QuickBooks Online. This stops the program from downloading new transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and then select the Banking tab.
  2. Select the duplicate bank account.
  3. Click the pencil icon, then select Edit account info.
  4. Choose the Disconnect this account on save checkbox. You won't see this option if QuickBooks is downloading transactions.
  5. Once done, click on Save and Close.

For more details about the process, please see this article: Delete an Account in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I've added this article that'll help you review your downloaded bank transactions and put them in the correct accounts: Categorize and Match Bank Data.

I'm only a post away if you need more help in managing your bank transactions, jeanette11. It's always my pleasure to help you out again.
