Hello there, @support81.

Let's review your accounts and transactions together to ensure they're accurate and to have a smooth reconciliation process.

If you're currently reconciling an account and encountered a discrepancy, I've got here some steps to fix it. First, review your opening and beginning balances. Then, check if the ending balance you entered in the reconciliation process is accurate. If you think there were changes made affecting your reconciled accounts, I'd suggest checking the Audit Log to take note of the changes. I'll guide you on how to access it.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit log under Tools.
  3. Click on the Filter dropdown menu and choose the user, date, and event(s) that are relevant to your search.
  4. Click Apply.

If a transaction was deleted, you can recreate it using the details in the Audit Log. Then, manually reconcile it in the bank register.

You can follow these steps to do so:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select the Chart of Accounts under Your company.
  3. Once there, locate the account where the transaction is. Then, press View register.
  4. Under the check column, click the box until you see R.
  5. Hit Save.

Additionally, I recommend reaching out to an accountant to ensure your books and records are accurate. You can use our tool to find a nearby professional.

Furthermore, you can check this resource for more information on fixing issues during reconciliation: Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

If you ever need to unreconcile an individual transaction from a completed reconciliation, you can refer to this article: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
