Question

There was a duplicate credit card transaction in quick books, so I deleted the transaction but I had already reconciled this credit card transaction. How do I fix this?

I appreciate your time and efforts posting here in the Community forum, Sparky. I'll share details to ensure all duplicated transactions are removed and get things sorted out for you.

When a reconciled transaction is deleted, you'll have to manually recreate the deleted reconciled item in QuickBooks Online (QBO). To get the details of that deleted transaction, you'll have to check your Audit Log

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Audit Log.
  2. Select the Filter drop-down and pick the appropriate user, date, and event(s).
  3. Once done, click Apply.
  4. Then, locate the deleted transaction.
  5. When you find the deleted item, click View under the History column.
  6. You'll see all the information needed for the transaction under the Event section.
  7. Use those details to re-enter the transaction with its original date.

After we recreate the transaction, we can go back to your register and change its status to Reconciled (R) manually.
